It's time to let your photos shine!

So, you've had a photo session, made and sent out the beautiful holiday cards - now what?! What in the world should you do with your photos after your session is long gone?

For some of you, those beautiful memories are more than likely stashed away somewhere on your phone or computer. BUT! They’re meant to be enjoyed by your family and displayed for others to enjoy as well and I'm here to help you do just that!

Here's the PERFECT time to look back at your beautiful family photos!

I like to do this at the beginning of the year.

January is a bit of a slower month for some people. We’re just coming off of the holiday craziness and we’re looking for a way to slow down. The exact recipe we need to get back to those photos and actually do something with them!

So, in this blog post I have 4 things for you to do with your photos after a session.

Some of these are things you may have already done, while others you might not have even thought of (or remembered to do!).

Let’s get to those ideas:

Organize + back them up!

If you haven't already, this is SUPER important!!

Make sure you know exactly where to find these memories + keep them safe to be able to look back on them for years.

Use TWO forms of backups:

-Some kind of cloud storage like google photos or Dropbox.

-A physical storage like a USB drive or external hard drive.

You might be thinking “Why do I need two backups Danielle?”

Here’s why:

Technology is not always 100% reliable so, *just in case* one of them fails you always have them stored safely in another place!!

Print them out!

You likely only got around to printing holiday cards and photos for family members, but what about you?! YOU deserve to enjoy your family memories too. Take the time to pick a few favorites and have them printed.

️If you had a session with me last year- you can easily print them straight from your online gallery!

Display them in your home.

After you've chosen some favorites, pick a few to display! Hang them on your wall, display them on a shelf. Show them off!!

Want to create a display that looks a little more high-end?

Choose a frame with a mat board. That the little white thick frame that’s similar to card stock within your picture frame. Photos that are framed + matted instantly up-level the look of your photos because the mat board draws your attention + focus to the photo. It simplifies your display and enhances your beautiful memories!

Create a photo book.

If you have some extra time on your hands, put all of your special photos in a printed photo book (I love Mpix!). This is one of my favorite ways to be able to look back on the year from start to finish or even just to have all of the photos from or family’s photo session all in one place!

Remember, our memories are meant to be enjoyed. They’re not meant to be hiding on your computer or phone!

I hope this was helpful and that it encourages you to fully enjoy your beautiful memories each in every day!
